4chan Planning Cruel Hoax on OKCupid Users
The elusive 4chan has never been one to shy away from a challenge, and apparently, torturing an entire crowd of single men in New York City counts as a challenge. According to many sources, the group collectively known as “Anonymous” has decided to attempt to trick as many guys on the dating site OKCupid as possible, by creating fake accounts with attractive women’s photos and convincing them to meet the fake woman for a date in Times Square on Friday, May 13th.They then plan on breaking out their cell phones and filming the massive crowd coming together, known presently as a “flash mob,” but in this case it is more likely to be a “shame mob.”
Unfortunately, the group’s plans may be foiled by the fact that the news has spread from 4chan, to the forum Reddit, and now to New York magazine which is potentially as mainstream as you get. Then again, you can never really underestimate the naivete of a lonely single dude looking to get a date. We’ll keep you updated as the date arrives.
