Happiness is the key to a successful relationship and it should never be brushed aside or overlooked.  If a couple is  unhappy, the relationship will quickly deteriorate.  Therefore, it is extremely important to ensure that you are constantly assessing your relationship.  It’s easy to downplay the negatives in a relationship when you are trying to concentrate on the positives.  I’m not saying that optimism and positivity are bad things.  What I am saying is that it’s important to be able to realize and acknowledge when problems arise in a relationship and be proactive in being able to figure out a way to eliminate or solve them.

Nobody wants to waste their time and energy on a relationship or a person that doesn’t make them genuinely happy.  Life is full of other stresses that we have to deal with daily.  The people we chose to have relationships with should lift us up and contribute to our lives in a positive way, not add to the stress and difficulties.  It can be easy to get lost in a situation that we truly are not satisfied with because we become so comfortable that anything else seems wrong.  But trust me, its way better to take yourself out of your comfort zone than to be unhappy with where you are.

So, for all of you who are unsure if your relationship is worth continuing, my best advice would be to truly and honestly reflect on your level of happiness.  Although many other aspects of our lives attribute to our happiness, relationship fulfillment is a huge factor.  If you are not happy in a relationship, it sure as hell is going to reflect negatively on other aspects of your life.  Take the time to weigh the good and the bad, the positive with the negative.  Does this relationship and this person better your life or do they bring you down?  Do you feel like you are living your life to its fullest or do you feel that your relationship is holding you back from things that are of importance to you?

When you are actually honest with yourself and with what makes you the happiest person you can be, you will be able to decide if the current relationship you are in is right or wrong.  Be proactive and don’t spend your time, emotions, or effort on something or someone that is just not worth it.  Life is too short to waste on being unhappy and plus, you could be missing out on something else out there that’s even better :)
