Discounts For Women: Sexism?

A recent article in the Sierra Sun tells us the story of two unsolvable issues. One of True.com, a great dating website that had the problem many do: too many men, too few women. And the other, Steven Surrey, a single guy looking to try a new dating site. Seems like Steven doesn’t really have an unsolvable problem, right? I mean, with the millions of dating sites out there, how would one have any sort of issue, unless it was “too many to choose from”?
Well, when the two parties collided is where we find our unsolvable issue. True.com, in order to look more inviting to women, offered a discount to them for joining. Men’s prices would remain the same. When Mr. Surrey came across and decided to join True.com, he was taken aback to see that although he would have to pay a full subscription fee, women were given an advantage in the form of a significant discount.
Instead of walking off and finding a new site, though, Steven decided to take a stand against what he believed to be gender inequality (although he’d have faced a much different type of gender inequality had he joined the site prior to the discount, am I right?), by suing True.com in Superior Court.
