First Kiss

Young kissing amorous coupleThe first kiss is a highly anticipated event that can occur within the first few minutes of meeting someone or not until after a few dates and drinks ;). The most common misconception of a first kiss is that it needs to be perfect. We are all well aware of the picture perfect first kisses displayed in all the sappy love movies that make our romantic moments seem incredibly elementary…but, that’s why it’s a movie, because perfection is only possible when you can do 50 takes of the same kiss over and over until it’s just right. In the real world, you just have one shot at a first kiss, so the odds of it being exactly what you had imagined are slim to none. So, stop stressing about when and where and for how long and just let it happen naturally.

This brings me to my next point…don’t let yourself over-analyze the first kiss. If you are feeling the other person and they are feeling you then it is bound to happen, no stressing necessary. You never need to force anything because when there is chemistry between two people the physical connection will flow naturally. With that being said, it’s important to display confidence in a first kiss. Think of the first kiss as a first impression, just be yourself, keep it cool and collected and go in for the kill.

The last point I want to make in regards to the first kiss is that you shouldn’t be afraid to make the first move. Many people may think that the guy should initiate the first kiss, but this is definitely not a rule by any means. Girls can and should be the first move makers sometimes as well. It’s sexy to be confident and brave, so if a girl wants to go in for the kiss, then more power to her. Either way, don’t just sit there twiddling your thumbs, waiting for the other person to make a move. Get rid of your timidness and if you are feeling it, go for it!

Again: this applies only in the US. In other countries things are a lot simpler. Wanna get it on? You just do. You’re not proving anything to anyone – you’re just doing what you want to do. What a radical idea. ;)
