How Do Dating Sites Provide Guarantees?

via single-men-and-women.net

A recent article on OnlineDatingInsider brought up an interesting feature that many dating sites are having these days: a online dating GUARANTEE.

Ashley Madison, for example, has an “Affair guaranteed” package, so if you pay the $249 and don’t have an affair in the first three months, they’ll refund your whole payment.

Somewhat similar situation with Match.com – if you don’t go on a date in the first six months, they’ll give you an additional 6 months free. Not quite as awesome as AshleyMadison’s program, but still a pretty good offer. If you don’t find someone in a year on the biggest dating site on the internet it might kind of be your own issues anyway.

I wonder how often these sites have to pay out on those offers? Do people actually go through with admitting they couldn’t find anyone? Are there more stringent stipulations to the guarantee? Does AshleyMadison have a mid-range escort on their payroll to ensure no guy goes through 3 months without getting laid? These are all questions I have about dating sites and their “guarantees.”

Do you have experience with these guarantees on dating sites? Have you ever gotten your money back? Let us know in the comments!
