Oversized purses, Snuggies, ankle boots… all fads of the current period (well, I guess not so much the Snuggie), that will very likely be looked upon in the future as… well, strange.
Another interesting trend making a smash? Celibacy. Yes, that’s right. As in, complete abstinence from sex. And no, it’s not a religious thing or a spiritual thing, it’s a trend, like any other. Apparently, survey information has been showing an interesting amount of teens and young adults not having sex, but as a Jezebel writer says, “couldn’t they just be going through a dry spell?”

If you choose to abstain from sex, fabulous: you’ll be 100% protected from STDs and unwanted pregnancies. However, choosing to abstain because it’s “cool” and denying your own natural impulses to have sex is in no way healthier than having safe, protected sex.
Don’t follow a trend just because it’s a trend. Unlike the Snuggies and the ankle boots, you’ll suffer much more than an embarrassing photo ten years from now. You’ll love out on precious time during your sexually adventurous years, and that is hard to get back.
