Kat Von D and Jesse James: Too Personal on Twitter

Public Displays of Affection are usually thought of as physical. Getting too hot and heavy at a bar, or being over-the-top sexual on a bus or subway, things like that. But can just expressing your love for each other in words ever be too much in public?

I would personally say go for it UNLESS you’re with a group of friends. Strangers aren’t gonna care if you’re talking quietly about how much you love each other, but if you’re in a large group with all your buddies and start getting all “you are so beautiful,” or “I am so in love with you,” all over the place, people are going to feel uncomfortable. It feels like you’re looking into a part of someone’s relationship you’re not supposed to see, like seeing Santa without his suit on or something.

And if you’re blasting it to your thousands of Twitter followers, it’s EVEN WORSE! Take Jesse James and Kat Von D, for example. They’ve been taking to Twitter to PROCLAIM their love and it’s a teeny bit creepy.

“@thekatvond this morning was magic I F’n love riding with u, Feeling you squeeze me tight when we go fast. You lean when I lean. We were one. . .@thekatvond my heart is so full.”

Uuughhh. It just gives me the willies! No one wants to hear about your weird grossly sexual motorcycle ride with your girlfriend! We’re always supportive of couples who don’t let themselves fall into stale monotony, but talking to each other on a public forum like horny teenagers is a big ol’ NO-NO.

What do you think about VERBAL PDA? Is it okay in real life? What about over the internet?
