Send REAL Flowers Via Dating Sites or Facebook!

If there is one aspect of Facebook and dating sites that I’ve never understood it’s the concept of “sending gifts,” in which a person pays money to put a tiny thumbnail image on someone’s wall of like, a stocking or a cat in a basket or something. I’m actually not sure how much each of those “gifts” costs because I’m not dumb enough to actually purchase one on Facebook, but I can understand the merit of them on dating sites: showing that you care by shelling out a few bucks instead of just throwing cookie-cutter messages to every profile you view.
Luckily, FloristOne has come up with a safe, easy way for dating sites to allow their members to send REAL flowers to each other. I know, you’re thinking this can’t be safe, we can’t allow people to access addresses! Not a problem: the site makes the system double-blind, so that there is no risk of giving away member’s real addresses.
Here’s an example of how it works. John, a member of a dating website, visits a storefront inside the dating website that offers flowers and has been created using the Florist One API. The storefront that offers and sells flowers is completely inside the dating website. John selects flowers, goes through ‘checkout’, and provides credit card information for their purchase – all inside the dating website.
Sarah, the recipient of the flowers, gets a notification letting her know John has sent her flowers and she is asked to supply a delivery address. When Sarah supplies a delivery address, John’s credit card is billed and the flowers are delivered by a local florist. If Sarah does not supply a delivery address for any reason, John’s credit is not billed and flowers are not sent.
John sends Sarah flowers but does not need to know, or have access to her address – Sarah does not have access to any of John’s personal information, a ‘double-blind’ system. John and Sarah never leave the dating website to send or accept flowers. Flowers are delivered to Sarah’s door by a local florist.
The FloristOne API is even great for the dating site that decides to adopt the idea – they get a 22% commission on all flowers sold. Pretty genius if you ask us…
