We all remember where we were when a 25-year-old Ashton and 40-year-old Demi first got together… well, we all remember how we felt then, at least. Probably a mix of “you go girl!” and “really?!” and “PUBLICITY STUUUUNT!” However, as their relationship progressed, we all started to think, huh, maybe they really do like each other. And then they got married, and then they got boring, and then we all forgot about them.

Fast forward six years, and reports surfaced that on the eve of their sixth wedding anniversary, Ashton had a fling with a 22-year-old woman in Las Vegas named Sara Leal. Kutcher denied the incident, but rumors of a split began swirling, ending with an announcement by Demi Moore yesterday that indeed, the two would divorce.

The 49-year-old Moore says she’s ending her marriage “with great sadness and a heavy heart.”

Demi says, “as a woman, a mother, and a wife, certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”

The tone of the announcement seems to confirm that infidelity was indeed the cause of the split, although of course we can’t be sure until she gets interviewed by Vogue or something in the coming months. We at DatePro are left wondering if the split solidifies the idea that cougar/cub relationships are better left as casual, fun flings, and not attempts at anything long term, or if, as always, this is one case that not be called the rule.

If one celebrity couple exemplified the reason to squash reality television now, it’s the Gosselins. Lead by uptight Kate and slacker Jon, the family rose to fame, shattered, and fell apart on national television.

And now that their reality show got the boot, the divorced couple’s battle is heating up, with Kate claiming that she is “freaking out” about going broke without the show and Jon, who has been seen working on a construction crew as of recently, showing no sympathy for his ex-wife:

“Reality TV is not a career. Get back to a normal life — a simple life. Provide for your family. Things will work out the way they should work out. Obviously there are families out there that have several kids – people work normal jobs and things work out. Everything is possible.”

Jon was certainly looked down upon after the divorce for dating a much-younger woman, partying, and dressing 10 years too young. However, as Kate splurged on fancy cars and vacations across the world, it seems Jon was the one thinking logically.

Maybe Kate should have stayed out the spotlight once her divorce was aired to the public. Or maybe Jon should have taken off the Ed Hardy t-shirts and concentrated on his children.

Or MAYBE, and I think this is most likely – maybe no one is in the wrong here except the executives behind the reality show that destroyed this family’s life. When a celebrity gossip blog says it, I think it’s time to listen.

In what is Hollywood’s most recent whirlwind romance, actors Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig have reportedly married in a secret ceremony in upstate New York this past weekend. The British couple, who were only accompanied at the ceremony by their children from previous marriages and two witnesses, have only been seeing each other for 6 months, but according to locals in a town they vacationed in, they look as though they’d been together for years. According to US Weekly,

“They picked up groceries at a little corner shop, probably to take home and cook or prepare for their roast,” a local told Us Weekly at the time. “They walked through the street like a married couple who had been together for ages — very much in love, very cozy and cute.”

Perhaps this is what marriage is supposed to be like – less glitz and glamour and flowers and expensive dresses, just two people in love with those closest to them.

Although the marriage was a definite shock, especially considering Rachel Weisz was engaged to her ex, director Darren Aronovsky, for 5 years, we wish them luck in the future!

In case you’ve been living under a very cool and inviting rock (I’d love to join you), Playboy magnate Hugh Hefner was recently left by his fiancee, 24 year old Crystal Harris, just days before their planned wedding. Hef announced the news via his Twitter feed, and claimed to be heartbroken, even raising an eyebrow at the fact that she left him the day her single hit iTunes.

However, it only took Hef a week to find a new nubile model to keep him company in bed. Anna Sophia Berglund, 25-year-old January Playmate of the Month, is apparently the most recent of the blond bombshells to call herself the 85-year-old man’s girlfriend. According to reports, they were seen kissing at cuddling at the Playboy mansions regular movie night, and are already calling each other “babe”.

At this point, there isn’t even a reason to scoff at this multi-millionaire’s dating choices. With two failed marriages and a failed engagement in his pocket, it pretty much makes sense that he just continually rotates beautiful blond 20-somethings through his mansion instead of trying to concentrate on just one, especially when they are all clearly in it for the dollah billz. With less than a few decades left on this planet, we gotta hand it to Hef for knowing how to spend his remaining years. No use trying to marry a bimbo when you can easily run through them like disposable diapers (that he may be wearing right at this moment).

Despite their 17 year age difference, a source says that the couple are a “perfect pair,” and that Paul’s children love her as well.

It’s always surprising to me when a person who has gone through an extraordinarily difficult split ends up getting married again. Sure, the problem might be that you two weren’t meant for each other, but it also shines a spotlight on the underlying issues in marriage as an institution. Paul lost an unheard of $50 million dollars in his divorce with Heather Mills, and yet has decided to jump into another with no prenup?! YIKES.

Ever since the divorce of Tron beauty Olivia Wilde from her Prince husband Tao Ruspoli, the gossip magazines have had a field day guessing who she might hook up with next. She was recently seen out and about with Ryan Gosling, so of course there was speculation there. And now there are reports that she spent a long night cuddling and sipping cocktails with singer and actor Justin Timberlake at the Roxbury in Los Angeles, who she met while filming Alpha Dog.

We wonder what it’s like to get divorced or go through a break up in Hollywood. Not only do you have people speculating and making assumptions about why the breakup happened in the first place, but then you’re basically not allowed to hang out with any of your actor friends without the pressing slapping your photo on their covers saying you guys are having sex, and maybe that’s what caused the breakup! Although we admit we’d love the luxurious life of a celebrity, perhaps the intense scrutiny about what is supposed to be your private life just wouldn’t be worth it!

After a failed marriage to fellow Cruel Intentions star Ryan Phillipe and another long term relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, Reese apparently found the type of guy she’s willing to settle down with again!

The groom, Jim Toth, is a Hollywood agent who has never represented Reese, but met her through friends last January. He popped the question in December with a $250,000 engagement ring.

According to reports, recently divorced stars Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn were seen officially together at the event… we may have to catch you up on this juicy new romance soon! ;)

According to a source at Life&Style, the answer is YES – she’s been seeing 24-year-old Jordan McGraw, who has his own celebrity roots as television host Dr. Phil’s son! Perhaps she was looking for someone closer to her own age?

Crystal Harris, the 24 year old woman who became 84-year-old Hugh Hefner’s fiancee a couple months ago after a surprise engagement, has reportedly been carrying on a hush-hush relationship with McGraw, starting when he was a music producer for Organica record label, where Harris is apparently an aspiring recording artist. Sources say he is no longer employed there because he was involved in illicit affairs with some female clients, and one of those just happens to be the future Mrs. Hefner.

Interestingly enough, these reorts come only weeks after Hefner’s ex, Holly Madison, was quoted saying, “Crystal may break Hef’s heart.”

We’re not sure if Holly’s words were a sign of things to come, but according to a rep at Playboy, “Jordan and Crystal have a business relationship.” I guess we’ll all have to see how this plays out.

Doesn’t that seem a little strange? I feel like in 90% of the breakups I encounter in day to day life, the couple despises one another, and usually, one person is utterly blindsided by the event. Even if they both mutually agree that a breakup needs to happen, it’s because they can not STAND each other anymore, and usually one person is a little less “mutual” about it than the other. Apparently in Hollywood everyone is very grown up and level-headed about things (ha, ha).

So comes the inevitable breakup of one of Hollywood’s most attractive couples, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake. People magazine reported this morning that perhaps the rumors from the past few months are true, and the gorgeous superstars have parted ways. Reps made a statement following the reports:

“Addressing the media speculation regarding Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake’s relationship, we are confirming that they mutually have decided to part ways. The two remain friends and continue to hold the highest level of love and respect for each other.”

Once again, what looked picture perfect may not have been as flawless as it seemed. Each and every time one of these breakups happens, we wonder if perhaps all relationships aren’t meant to last forever. Maybe our antiquated belief that all relationships have to end in marriage isn’t the case!

In what could possibly be one of the quickest and most publicized D-list divorces ever, Frasier star Kelsey Grammer has finalized his divorce with his reality-show villain of a wife Camille. According to TMZ, the divorce was finalized just moments ago, just in time for Kelsey to brush off his tuxedo for his marriage to his new girlfriend Kayte Walsh, who at 29 is two decades younger than her husband to be. The couple have been engaged for months and are even expecting a child together, so its unsurprising that in the divorce settlement Camille sought out a cool $2.3 million to protect against any future spouses.

Camille’s character on the show “real Housewives of Beverly Hills,”  has been shown as superficial, vindictive, and perhaps even a little… crazy? but we still feel for the mother of two as she watches her husband start a new life with a woman half her age. We wish both parties luck and hope the split will be as amicable as possible!
