According to EntertainmentWise, she’s gotten some advice on how to get back in the dating game from her pal Jennifer Aniston – by online dating! Sources say Aniston had used online dating to get her groove back after her very public break ups (with Brad Pitt and Vince Vaughn, we imagine), and suggested that Moore do the same. We’re sure that Moore would have a fantastic time using online dating and would have no problem getting the pick of the litter!

However, it may be unnecessary, as the mag also claims Demi might already be dating a California National Guard member named Blake Corl-Baietti. We’ll let you know if he hear any rumors of Demi joining the online dating game!

In the last week, we’ve seen quite a spike in celebrity break ups in the news, and it got us thinking? What’s going on? Coincidence? Is there something in the California water? Or is Spring just a time when couples decide to call it quits?

Arnold and Maria Shriver were the first couple to call it quits, ending their 25 year marriage earlier this week. Considering the very well-known fact that Arnie has a bit of a problem fondling the ladies, this one wasn’t a huge surprise. What was a surprise was how long it took to happen! We wonder if it had to do with Arnold’s move from the entertainment industry into politics – scandals like a divorce can often harm chances of election. Perhaps with Arnold’s term coming to an end they felt it was finally okay to publicly split.

Hayden Pannettiere and her boxer beau Wladimir Klitschko reportedly broke up, and according to Wlad (is that the nickname for Wladimir?), it had a lot to do with managing a relationship from separate continents. DUH ALERT, everyone. We wonder if Hayden was just tired of answering questions about how they “do it,” when he is over a foot taller than her.

Last but not least, on-again, off-again couple Bar Refaeli and Leonardo DiCaprio are officially off, again, according to The Herald Sun (and everyone else). We always wonder about couples who break up and reunite several times. Does it mean they are meant for each other but the timing is always off, or does it mean they are trying too hard to make something work that is so obviously wrong? The two are very attractive and will surely meet new lovers (Leo reportedly already has), but we wonder if we’ll be seeing this couple again in the future.

So what do you think? Is spring the season to split? Or it just a coincidence that three long-term relationships ended within a week?

I’ve always been somewhat confused by our collective lack of interest in celebrity weddings. I mean, sure, we all love to see two blasphemously attractive people date, we like to see them out in public doing normal things (not to say that isn’t weird in itself), but once the marriage happens, were like, ‘eh, over it. Call me when you divorce.’

Such is not the case of the wedding of William and Kate, or the future king and queen of England. They aren’t movie stars or models or singers, they’re not even from our country, and their becoming KING AND QUEEN is something our ancestors fought for us to NOT care about. What do the king and queen even DO?! I cant imagine it is cool enough for them to make PLATES with their FACES on them.

Contrary to my opinion, though, it seems as though everyone else in our country just can’t WAIT for William and Kate to marry, and are celebrating by purchasing every houseware available with poorly drawn caricatures all over them.

So can you explain it to me? What’s with our undying fascination with the Royal Wedding That Will Have No Effect On Us Whatsoever?

Another one bites the dust, as they say.

We just learned from the bloggers at BCU (the blog for the dating site OnlineBootyCall.com) that skateboarder and entrepreneur Tony Hawk is getting divorced. For the third time. Not only that, but the whole story is just one big mess:

“Tony Hawk married Cindy in 1990. They have one son. Divorced in 1993, because Tony had begun seeing Erin, THE NANNY. They married in 1996, and had two sons together but then got divorced in 2003 because Tony decided to get together with his PUBLICIST Lhotse. They got married in 2006 and had a daughter BUT are now getting divorced because Lhotse caught Tony with Cathy, THE WIFE OF HIS BEST FRIEND AND LONGTIME BUSINESS PARTNER MATT GOODMAN.”

Sad, isn’t it? Not only that another marriage is going down the drain and that ANOTHER child is about to be a part of a broken home, but that there are women in the world with such delusions of grandeur, such pathetic self-esteem, that they would still stay with a guy who is so obviously a piece of scum. I’m no man-hater and definitely not a women hater, but all parties in this situation are GUILTY.

Ashlee Simpson (vocally impaired younger sibling of Jessica Simpson) and her husband of two years, rocker Pete Wentz, have called it quits. The young couple have a child together, and up until the news were always viewed as a very cute, happy couple. Which is to prove the ancient adage “you can’t judge a book by its cover.”

According to reps, Ashlee is stating irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup, and is seeking physical custody of their son, Bronx Mowgli.

Just like yesterday’s news of Olivia Wilde parting with her beau of eight years, we have to cite the young marriage age as a reason why so many relationships fail. Young people, take heed, and get in the slow lane for once!

The story of Sandra Bullock and her husband Jesse James’ divorce last year was about as public as one could get. She was having the career year of her life, with blockbuster hit movies and an Academy Award nomination (which she eventually won), but her private life was in shambles. Not only did her husband get caught cheating, but with a tatted up stripper named Michelle “Bombshell” McGee from San Diego. Plus, rather damning photos of James in Nazi gear surfaced as well.

Fast forward to 2011, Sandra Bullock has a beautiful adopted son, and Jesse James is no longer in a relationship with McGee, but he definitely kept with the trend, announcing his engagement to tattoo artist and reality star Kat Von D (who bears a striking resemblance to his ex-lover) just this past week. [In fact, McGee has taken to her Twitter account to warn Kat Von D about the mistake she was making, saying "he doesn't have a faithful bone in his body!"]

The big picture here? I wonder if this is a case of “well, I guess you CAN judge a book by it’s cover!” Sandra Bullock’s initial engagement to Jesse James was met with raised eyebrows and a collective “Him?” from many media outlets. His bad-boy image and seemingly polar opposite attitude from the bubbly movie star had people scratching their heads about what she could possibly see in him. However, that cynicism quickly turned to a romantic “opposites attract” story, endearing and adored by all the gossip magazines.

Looking back though, perhaps the initial reaction was right? Maybe a bad boy, for a bit, wants a good girl to balance out his side, or a nice woman he can bring home to mom. But in reality, there is a reason a person decides on the “bad boy” route, right?

Lots of times, couples who have been together for a long time end up have many similar traits: saying, habits, tastes, and even looks can be affected by a long term relationship. Sometimes these things are positive, but other times, well, they’re not so positive. Such is the case in the ongoing story of Randy and Evi Quaid, Hollywood couple who’ve been popping up in the news several time for squatting illegally in a house, charges of felony vandalism, and well, just being somewhat nuts.They’ve recently relocated to Vancouver, Canada to avoid the charges, leaving us all down south wondering what the heck could be going through their brains at any given moment.

However, a couple of recent articles in Vanity Faire and Esquire are beginning to hint that Randy may not actually be as nuts as his wife. According to DListed, Randy often begins speaking like, well, a well-adjusted human being. He mentions that maybe he should go back to California so he can face up to the charges, but Evi pulls him back, talking about “Hollywood Whackers” who want to murder them, just as they did to “David Carradine, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, Robert Blake’s wife, [and] Phil Hartman.”

Suffice it to say I’m pretty sure Evi jumped off the deep end a long time ago, and poor Randy, star of such great hits as Christmas Vacation and Independence Day, has just been dragged down with her. It makes you wonder the kind of psychological impacts that long term relationships can have on a person, whether good or bad.

For now though, the only conclusion we can make is that Evi Quaid is a grade-A nutjob. Good luck with that one, Randy!

So our question – is texting (or more specifically) sexting, the downfall of long-term relationships? With the ease of carrying on racy relationships, with out any real physical contact, and with the ability to permanently strike everything said from the record, are people more likely to cheat?

We believe the answer is a little yes, and a little no. Yes, technology has made it simpler and easier to do just about everything – cheating included. But can we blame the ease and relative discretion of the internet and text messaging? No. People make decisions for themselves. And whether the cheating is bringing someone back from a bar or just keeping communication in stealth mode, cheating would happen.

Our question is, does Jake Gyllenhaal (and do other guys) have a specific “type”? His most famous relationship was with low key girl-next-door Reese Witherspoon, and Taylor Swift definitely fits that mold. In fact, Reese even played a country star in the movie Walk the Line! So do most men have a type? Do they tend to date the same kind of woman either in looks or personality? Maybe… but sometimes escaping the mold and trying something new can be a breath of fresh air and a break from the monotony.
